ML Engineer

The role

Caplia is private intelligence for the early-stage ecosystem. Accelerators, funds, angels, early-stage banks, startup awards and founders use the Caplia platform, and Phronel, the private AI agent behind it, to manage company discovery, evaluation and support.

As our first Caplia Labs hire, you'll build the model tooling and data foundations behind Phronel and the Caplia Readiness Index. You'll own how our models are trained, evaluated and kept private, consistent and calibrated on real capital outcomes.

What you'll do

• Build and own training, evaluation and deployment pipelines for Phronel

• Design the data foundations behind readiness scoring and traction signals

• Set up evaluation that checks models against real capital outcomes

• Keep data private by design, on our own infrastructure

• Work directly with the founding team to shape Caplia Labs

Who you are

• Hands-on ML engineer with production experience

• Strong in Python, data pipelines and model evaluation

• Comfortable owning a problem end to end, from data to deployment

• Interested in how capital finds the strongest companies
